Alder II needs a new captain

She has been a much loved boat but circumstances have changed due to the captain’s health and Alder II is for sale at $10,000 FIRM.

The Alder II is a 34 foot fully restored 1948 ex-Forest Service Patrol Boat – wooden assistant ranger crew boat. She patrolled the BC coast for many years in the days before airplanes. She is part of a squadron of boats for those interested in taking part in her living history – they meet up annually for historical BC Coastal Squadron reunions. Her previous owner took her to Prince Rupert with a family of five kids annually (!!) so she can go the distance. This boat was originally built to move crews of 10 – 12 people up and down the coast but her bench seating can comfortably sleep two on the bench berths. She has a toilet with electric flushing, a sink, and a fridge. She has great outdoor space and an awesome swim deck and is wonderful for taking a crew of friends and family out for island picnics and summer swims. The Alder II has been a restoration project for the current owners and all the heavy lifting and structural restoration work has been done – planks, rub-rail, cabin glassing, and decks all done! She is ready for her new owners to bring the finishing touches to life! She is still a project to be finished and this is reflected in the firm price. The Alder II is located in Lund Harbour and can be viewed by appointment. The boat does not come with moorage arrangements.
