The glorious sweet lines of the former Forest Services Assistant Ranger Launch.  This is the wonderful boat that my wife and I have bought.  We are bring the boat home from Sechelt to Powell River on the May long weekend.  Our boat Alder II, was built in 1949 and the above drawing is a generic drawing of the class of boats that Alder II was.  The boat has been lovingly cared for during its almost 30 years in Sechelt and this shows with all the folks stopping by to say how much they loved the boat and how they are sad to see it go.  Some great stories to come from all the folks.  And a reminder that there is no doubt that over the years Alder ii has been to Powell River sometime since 1949.  Here is a photo from the 1960 edition of the Forest Service Newletter showing three of the Series 2 Blimps, of which Adler II is, at Lund at the start of the summer fire season.
